Original Description of Dicolpus anculotoides Philippi, 1887, p. 41:

  • "Testa ovata; anfractus ultimus postice (s. superius) serie nodulorum acutorum armatus, anterius cylindricus, demum constrictus; apertura posterius valde angusta. - Altit. 18 mm., crass. 11 1/2 mm."

Locus typicus: Lebu, Chile

Comment Philippi, 1887, p. 41:

  • "Ich fand ein Exemplar in Lebu. Das Gehäuse ist in Kalkspath verwandelt, und der Zustand der Oberfläche erlaubt nicht die Anwachsstreifen zu erkennen. Von D. obesus unterscheidet sich diese Art leicht dadurch, dass sie viel schmäler, fast cylindrisch ist."

  • "anculotoides, Dicolpus – Philippi, 1887a: 41 [1887b: 37], pl. 1, fig. 21. Lebu, Chile; Tertiary. Holotype, SGO.PI.756. Melanopsis anculotoides (Philippi, 1887) (Cossmann, 1909:178). However, being from a marine deposit, unlikely to be a freshwater taxon."
