This is a fantastic fossil with no data. Maybe you can identify it.
- Where was it found?
- From which museum does it come?
- The remaining pieces of the label might point to the Göteborgs Museum.
- What is it?
- Which age does it have?
Comment Anton Oleinik:
- The specimen is Struthiochenopus nordenskjoldi (Wilckens, 1910) from the Late Cretaceous - Early Tertiary of Antarctica. Looking at the remains of the label, I venture to guess that the specimen could've came from Sweden, in which case it may be either from Seymour or Snow Hill Islands. I extensively collected at Seymour Island and the species is quite common there. It ranges through the Late Cretaceous (Maastrichtian) and Danian portions of the Lopez de Bertodano Formation and goes into the Paleocene (Danian) Sobral Formation. The fact that the specimen enclosed in the rounded concretion suggests that it is from the Paleocene. These concretions are very typical for the Paleocene part of the Lopez de Bertodano Formation. More details about this and other species from Antarctica can be found in: William J. Zinsmeister and Miguel Griffin, 1995. Late Cretaceous and Tertiary aporrhaid gastropods from the southern rim of the Pacific Ocean. Journal of Paleontology 69(4), pp. 692-702.

These gastropods were found in St.Martin d'Oney, France; Aquitanian, Miocene; 23 mm.
- Cerithoids or Stromboids?
- Any idea of identification?
- There are some similarities with Semiterebellum and with Africoterebellum
