Original description of Ectinochilus (Ectinochilus) saidi by Abbass, 1967:

  • "Shell small turriculat; spire acute with bluntly raised protoconch; whorls 5, slightly convex, separated by shallow, linear sutures; ornament consists of 20 thin axial ridges nearly orthocline, separated by interspaces 3-4 times wider than axials; axials on one whorl not corresponding in position to those on adjacent whorls; aperture not preserved."

Locus typicus: Mokattam Hills, southeastern Cairo, Egypt

Stratum typicum: upper Eocene

Dimensions: Spire angle 30°, height 27 mm, whorl height 7 mm, whorl width 12 mm
