Original Description of Pterocera fourneli by Coquand, 1862, p. 184:

  • "Coquille ovale, déprimée; tours convexes, striés en long: le dernier tour, grand et gibbeux, portant quatre grosses côtes, formant carène; labre très-dilaté et descendant en arrière sur la spire."

Locus typicus: "Messab-el-Messai"

Stratum typicum: "campanien"

Comment Coquand, 1862:

  • "Cette espèce offre quelque ressemblance avec le P. polycera d'Orb., mais elle en diffère par les quatre côtes qu'elle porte sur le dernier tour.
