Original Description of Rostellaria athleta by d'Orbigny, 1850 (cited from Pacaud, 2007):

  • "Espèce longue de 24 centimètres, voisine du Rostellaria macroptera, mais s’en distinguant par l’aile peu développée, ne passant pas l’avant-dernier tour, et n’enveloppant d’aucune manière le reste de la spire."

Locus typicus: Bois-le-Roi, Auvers-sur-Oise, Val d’Oise, France; (Pacaud, 2007)

Stratum typicum: Bartonian, middle Eocene
