• "Très-voisine de la R. turgida, Desh., dont elle diffère par sa forme plus allongée et l'existence de deux ou trois varices sur chacun des tours voisins du sommet. - Columelle calleuse. Canal potérieur n'atteignant pas la suture précédente. Labre ?"

Original Description of Strombus bulbiformis by Schauroth, 1865, p. 225:

• "1672. Strombus bulbiformis n. , n. sp., Tab. XXIV, fig. 2. Str. testa ovata, laevi, spira brevi mucronata, unfractibus paucis convexis, striis incrementi distantibus; apertura ovalo-elongata, labro calloso."
• "Der Umriss der Schale ist kurz, spindelförmig mit etwas vorstehendem Flügel. Die ersten Umgänge bilden einen kurzen Kegel von 50 Grad in der Spitze. Die Schale ist glatt, mit Zuwachsstreifen versehen, und die Umgänge haben wenig Wölbung. Der Mundsaum ist glatt, stark und ungekerbt: die innere Lippe wird nach unten wulstförmig. Das untere Ende ist abgebrochen. Aus Nummulitenkalk. Castelgomberto."
