Original Description of Aporrhais exilis by Gabb, 1864, p. 129:
- "Shell minute; spire high; whorls six, upper whorl convex, the apex blunt; body whorl biangular, the upper angle very prominent; canal produced, straight; lip unknown. Upper whorls ornamented by curved ribs placed somewhat obliquely; on the body whorl these ribs incline forward to the upper angle of the whorl, and then downwards and backwards, becoming obsolete anteriorly; below the lower angle, they are crossed by smaller revolving lines, producing a somewhat cancellated appearance."
