Species / Drepanocheilus Magharensis
Stromboidea
Original Description of Drepanocheilus (Drepanocheilus) magharensis Abbass, 1963, p. 76:
- "The shell is small and fusiform. The spire is long and consists of 5-6 whorls. The whorl outline is convex and the sutures are deeply furrowed. The ornament consists of 24-26 fine, opisthocline and opisthocyrt axial cords on each whorl. They are separated by interspaces of the same or slightly greater width and are crossed by finer spiral cords with interspaces of the same width. Fine tubercles are produced at the points of intersection. The body whorl occupies less than half the height of the shell, and tapers anteriorly into a short canal. Its surface is crossed by a large number of spirals of which one or two, near the peripheries, become more prominent than the others, forming small keels. The axials have a posterior sinus and an anterior convexity."
