Original Description of Strombus (Eustrombus) diegelae by Petuch, 1991, p. 15:

  • "Shell small for subgenus, broad across shoulder, with inflated body whorl; spire very elevated, protracted, almost equal to length of body whorl; should[er] angled; spire whorls and body whorl with 10 to 12 large pointed knobs; body whorl ornamented with 24 to 30 large evenly spaced cords; finer secondary cords present between some primary cords; dorsum of body whorl with 6 to 8 axial ribs anterior to shoulder knobs; subsutured area and spire whorls ornamented with numerous fine, threadlike cords; siphonal canal short, twisted dorsally; lip greatly expanded (on adults), winglike, projekting posteriorly; stromboid notch very shallow, poorly developed."
