Phorus exutus Reeve, 1842, pl. 215, fig. 9, 10
Original Description of Phorus exutus by Reeve, 1843a, p. 162:
- "Phor. testa orbiculari, depresso-conica, ad apicem acuta, rosaceo-fulva, tenuissima, volutum peripheria inconcinniter undulata, dilatata, superficie diagonaliter striata et sulcata; inferna facie pallida, nitente, striata, versus marginem granosa, lamella cavitatem formante."
Reeve, 1843a, p. 162:
- "This shell exhibits very slight evidence of ever having had any matter agglutinated to it. It somewhat resembles the preceding species [Phorus indicus], but may be readiliy distinguished by the elaborate manner in which the whorls are diagonally carved with grooves and striae. The periphery of each whorl is most unusually dilated beyond their laminal baes; it is exeedingly thin and fragile, and very unevenly undulated."
