Pietteia Anglica

Original Description of Pietteia anglica by Cox & Arkell, 1950:

  • "The Pietteia of the English Great Oolite differs from the true P. hamus, of Inferior Oolite, and from P. denticulata (with which Piette united it) in the absence of a well-marked carina on its spire whorls. Its labral digitation is much wider than in the true A. hamus."

Locus typicus: Minchinhampton, Gloucestershire County, South West Region, England

Stratum typicum: Great Oolite, Bathonian, middle Jurassic
