Original diagnosis:

  • "A medium size Stellaria with fine spiral sculpture on the upper side at high angle to the base and a partially covered umbilicus."

Original Description of Stellaria striatissima by Raven, 2021:

  • "Medium size Stellaria (diameter to 41.9 mm; based on a fragment up to 55 mm) with medium high spire (h to 21 mm), with apical angle of ~90-110o), whorls straight to slightly convex, sculpture of closely spaced irregular fine ribs at 45-80o to the base and perpendicular to the weak growth lines, outer edge irregular, with shell fragments attached (mostly broken off from outer whorl), simple and very nar¬row, overhanging peripheral rim. Base smooth with growth lines only on outer part, towards the umbilicus the growth lines become narrow grooves or fine, closely spaced lamellae, near the umbilicus crossed by 3-4 interrupted spiral ribs. The umbilicus is narrow, partially covered in juveniles, fully covered in adults. The inner lip continues straight to a position ¾ whorl back."
