Original Description of Struthiolaria ameghinoi by von Ihering, 1897, p. 289:

  • "Struth. testa pyramidali-ovata, spira subturrita, anfractibus transversim striatis et sulcatis, superne declivibus subangulatis, ad angulum nodulis costiformibus decurrentibus ornatis; anfractu ultimo antice liris elevatis spiralibus senis ornato; sutura profunda, columella callosa, labro vix incrassato."

Stratum typicum: Santa Cruz Formation, Miocene

Dimensions: "Long. 70 mm., Diam. 38 mm."
