Species / Bicorempterus

Stromboidea

Original Diagnosis of the genus Bicorempterus by Gründel, 2001, p. 70:

  • " The protoconch whorls are at first smooth, later with spiral and axial ribs. The axial ribs disappear rather quickly. The teleoconch whorls have a strong keel and are covered with numerous spiral ribs. The last whorl has two keels. On adults only the upper keel has a process. It is horizontal and only its distal part bent upwards. The rostrum is long and a little bent towards the aperture."

Type species of Bicorempterus is Alaria bispinosa (Phillips, 1829) var. elegans Hudleston, 1884
