Locus typicus: Bataan, Luzon Island, Philippines (selected by Abbott, 1960; Wood, 1828 gave no type locality)
Corrected Locus typicus: Toliara (formerly Tuléar), Atsimo-Andrefana, southern Madagascar (selected by *Dekkers & Liverani, 2010)
Environment:
- upper shelf siliclastic, from sublittoral sand along linear clastic coastline, at 15 m depth (Raven, 2002)
- offshore mud, sand and broken shell bottoms down to 50 m depth (Raven, 2002)
