Original Description of Rostellaria nebrascensis by Evans & Shumard, 1854:

  • "Shell elongate, conical; whorls about eight, convex, body whorl with two well rounded keels; lip prolonged transversely, terminating in a sharp point; all the volutions ornamented with transverse revolving thread-like striae, which are crossed longitudinally by prominent flexuous ribs."

Locus typicus: "Sage Creek, Nebraska" (Evans & Shumard), now South Dakota, USA

Stratum typicum: Baculites compressus zone, Pierre Shale, Maastrichtian, upper Cretaceous
