Original description of Rostellaria robinaldina by d’Orbigny, 1843:

  • "R. testâ elongate-turritâ,tenui; spirâ, angulo 37º; anfractibus convexis, distinctis, longitudinaliter striatis, transversim costatis: costis anticè posticèque evanescentibus; ultimo anfractu subcarinato; labro dilatato, aliformi, posticè acuminato."
  • "Coquille allongée, mince. Spire formée d'un angle régulier, composée de tours convexes, finement striés en long, et ornés, en travers, par révolution spirale, de quinze côtes aiguës un peu flexueuses, atténuées vers la suture. Les premiers tours sont simplement striés en long; le dernier, légèrement déprimé, et orné de stries inégales, prend vers l'aile une légère carène. Bouche étroite; canal long, grêle, sans sinus marqué à la base. Labre prolongé, aile courte, dirigée en arrière, dont l'extrémité mince est terminée en pointe, oblique; le moule intérieur est lisse."

Comment

  • Kollmann, 2005 claims, that the specimens from Atherfield (Isle of Wight) do not belong to Perissoptera robinaldina, they belong to an unnamed species.
