Species / Tulochilus

Original Description of the genus Tulochilus by Finlay & Marwick, 1937, p. 63:

  • "Shell small, resembling Drepanochilus in general features, but having spire-whorls strongly angled and bearing oblique, blunt tubercles. The outer lip is expanded into a broad hooked wing which is joined to the shell as high as the preceding suture. A well-marked, almost straight groove runs from the extremity of the wing to the upper third of the aperture, below this the wing is much thickened."

Type species: Drepanochilus (Tulochilus) bensoni Finlay & Marwick, 1937 by original designation

Tulochilus is treated as subgenus of Drepanocheilus in the literature (Kiel & Bandel, 2002, Stilwell, 2000, 2003)
