Original Description of Strombus fissura by Coquebert & Brongniart, 1793, p. 56:

  • "St. testa laevi labro integro expanso, postice recurvo; Basi in carinam fissam continuato, fig. 4. Testa fusiformis, apertura coarctata, cauda recta elongata. Labrum integrum planum expansum, postice recurvum, basi in carinam fissam, anfractibus planis adfixam, apice recurvam, continuatum."
